Rho Symbol in Greek Alphabet
Rho (uppercase Ρ, lowercase ρ) is the 17th letter of the Greek alphabet. In Greek numerals, it has a value of 100. The letter rho came from the Phoenician letter rēš, meaning head. The Phoenicians changed the Egyptian Ro and renamed it. But the ancient Greeks didn’t make any changes, just renamed it Rho. The lowercase rho (ρ) is used in economics, mathematics, ecology, molecular biology, computer programming and statistics.
